After three years of hard work, Victor has now release his debut CD - Dawn of the Carnival. This exciting album showcase Victor on both electric and acoustic nylon string guitars. Welcome back to those of you that have wonder whatever happened to my original domain victoryong.com since Dec. 2007. Well, to cut to the chase, an old registrar had tried to rip me off by disabling my online renewal options. My domain expires and they request for more money to "unlock" it. Anyhow, eventually through a higher level, they released it and it was immediately snatched up by an accomplice who ignores my emails to sell it back to me. Anyhow, they can keep that name if they so choose, I thought my new domain victoryong.ca means a lot more as I live in this great country of ours.

After almost a year since the first contact, it finally came to fruition that local Latin big band Sonora Kings (formerly Orquesta Tropicana) had hired Victor to be their guitar player. The band plays a variety of great Latin dance music which includes Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and the sexy Bachata, where the guitar is paramount. The inaugural performance with Victor will be the 16th of June at the Azure Lounge and Grill, located in the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver.

Gung Xi Fat Cai! Happy Chinese New Year to everyone and welcome the year of the Pig. An exciting project ensues begining this year. A new band is formed and this time a complete about-turn from the norm. The 5 piece band, Orient Express, will concentrate solely on the Chinese entertainment scene. The band's repertoire will consist of 70% classic Chinese pop songs and 30% split between Western classic rock and Instrumental music. Look towards mid April for the inaugural performance at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Richmond.

A very small and poorly recorded (visual wise) video is now available for viewing. However, despite the small home video camera quality - the sound is really quite acceptable. You can listen to Victor's performance HERE with indie Hard Rock band Live She Cries recorded last year at Castle Park on Canada Day.

Time for a Vacation! In less than 1 week, Victor will be heading back to Malaysia for a short vacation of three weeks from May 4th to 26th, to visit his sweet old Grandma and releatives. It is also a trip to check out his hometown - Miri's first International Jazz Festival event. www.mirijazzfestival.com

Victor will be accompanying local artist Tracy Forsyth for a one song KISM radio show on the 14th in Bellingham, WA. This performance will be recorded and be aired on 92.9 FM on Sunday 19th at 8:00pm.
